10 Days in Vietnam

After sifting through the photos and journal entry’s I created on a 10 day trip to Vietnam I decided to compile them into a 65 page zine which I would send to my closest friends and family. Inspired by the nuance and beauty of the landscape and culture, and their stark contrast with the immediacy and ubiquity to the bright-red propaganda signage, the zine features translucent pages with bold communist quotes, superimposed onto my photographs of the land and its people.

The zine also features a companion piece detailing the 8 most important things that shaped my time through the country. Its bright colors are a nod to the Vietnamese flag, which can be seen flying from nearly every street corner, while the typography is once again heavily inspired by the prevalent communist propaganda/ephemera.
